Use Hike for Lung Health as motivation with your PR group

Leading a PR Virtual Walk Team works well for many rehab groups. By incorporating Hike for Lung Health into weekly rehab sessions, patients experience a new focus, extra incentive and a fun twist in their regular schedule. Their families and your staff can show support as team members too, logging their own steps along with your PR group and/or attending the walk.

Be as creative as you wish

The concept is completely flexible – there are no rules. Make Hike for Lung Health work for the unique needs of your PR group(s) by tracking individual progress or distance however you decide.

Successful efforts for past PR Virtual Walk Teams have included:

  • Bulletin board displays
  • Group competitions
  • Themed teams
  • Small prizes
  • A celebratory lunch/party

You can also schedule an onsite visit from RHA for encouragement before the event or afterward as part of your celebration.

Hike for Lung Health Virtual Walkers are invited to Lincoln Park in Chicago on Sunday, September 17 to join the event day festivities without “the walk.” Seating is available – simply come have fun and be a part of the lung health community. All PR Virtual Teams are recognized during the event.

The $15 per person registration fee includes a Hike for Lung Health T-shirt. These are shipped to you before the event date and can be distributed to team members however you choose.

Raise awareness & funds in your community

As a charity walk, participants may want to fundraise for Respiratory Health Association or one of our Hike charity partners. If RHA is selected, all donations raised support our mission to prevent lung disease, promote clean air and help people live better through education, research and policy change.

RHA serves an estimated one million Chicagoland residents diagnosed with asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema, lung cancer, and other lung diseases through community-based interventions.
