Changes to State Lung Health Education Day 2020

Each spring we look forward to the opportunity to connect with our lung health community and local legislators to share our vision of healthy lungs and clean air for all; however, given growing concerns around COVID-19, we’ve made the decision to cancel the in-person component of State Lung Health Education Day 2020.

While we are disappointed to cancel this impactful event, we are being proactive in an effort to prevent illness and prioritize the health and safety of our community, including those living with chronic lung disease. We know there are a growing number of COVID-19 cases in Illinois, and we expect there will be more in the coming weeks.

The safety of our supporters, volunteers and staff is always our top priority.

In place of this in-person trip to Springfield, we are working on other ways to bring our community together through video and online events so we can continue the important advocacy work of Respiratory Health Association. We’ll share additional details on our plans in the coming weeks.

Share your lung health story with your legislators.

“My daughters learned firsthand how advocating for something you believe in can make a difference in the real world — thank you for that. I hope our family’s presence in Springfield made a difference for what RHA and we believe in.” – Glenn D., Highland Park

RHA’s annual State Lung Health Education Day gives you and other advocates the opportunity to visit Springfield and gather support for lung-friendly initiatives. Meet with decision makers to share your experience with lung disease and promote clean air and healthy lungs.

RHA provides motor coach transportation, lunch, and talking points. You provide the impact!
