Respiratory Health Association engages with community members, researchers, health professionals and elected officials to address the unique challenges and opportunities to reduce disparities in lung disease and improve patient outcomes. We have a long and successful history of participation in community-centered research that aims to improve outcomes for children and adults living with lung disease.
RHA currently serves on executive committees of research collaboratives, participates in school health advisory councils, and co-chairs chronic disease prevention efforts within Healthy Chicago 2.0, the City’s strategic plan to improve health equity by achieving health and well-being for all. We have also recently led patient and stakeholder engagement activities and served as a principal investigator for collaborative research efforts looking at health outcomes for pediatric asthma in Chicago. Below are summaries of some of RHA’s recent and ongoing participation in lung disease research collaborations.
