Come Join Our Cause

Support Respiratory Health Association’s mission by volunteering with us! Volunteers help with hundreds of mailings, hand out countless bananas to event participants and assist with numerous other projects and efforts.

Why Volunteer for RHA?

Your time and support make it possible for us to save costs and maximize the impact of our education, research and policy change efforts.

In addition to the needs listed below, we encourage you to join our volunteer E-advocacy Team.

Office Opportunities

Occasionally, we need volunteer assistance with projects and tasks at our office, located at 1440 West Washington Boulevard in Chicago, Illinois.

Examples of past projects include:

  • Data entry
  • Filing
  • Goody bag stuffing
  • Labeling and stuffing envelopes
  • Packing t-shirts and fundraising prizes

Please note that these activities may involve lifting, standing, sitting, bending and/or moving heavy items.

Office volunteers are typically needed during weekday office hours, although there are occasional evening opportunities. Shifts may vary from 1.5 hours to 4 hours.

SPECIAL EVENT VOLUNTEERS

Volunteers are vital to the success of our special events! Help is needed in a variety of areas in the weeks before each event and on event day.

RHA’s Special Event Schedule

Please note that these activities may involve lifting, standing, sitting, bending and/or moving heavy items.

RHA’s event are scheduled on weekends except for CHILL, which is on a weeknight. Events take place in downtown Chicago except for the CowaLUNGa Charity Bike Tour, which starts in Gurnee, Illinois and ends in Hubertus, Wisconsin.

VOLUNTEER BENEFITS

In addition to the good feeling that comes from making a difference, RHA honors volunteers at our annual Volunteer Recognition Night. Event volunteers typically receive an RHA t-shirt as well.
