Building a Breathable Future: Chicago’s Businesses Unite for Lung Health

In honor of Lung Health Awareness Month in October, Respiratory Health Association champions Breathe Easy, a citywide campaign that brings together Chicago businesses in support of clean air and healthy lungs.

Breathe Easy highlights the many ways local businesses can raise awareness and support for RHA’s work in lung health research, education, and advocacy. Throughout October, participating businesses will showcase unique initiatives, including special promotions, awareness partnerships, and volunteer collaborations, all designed to spark conversation about lung health.

A healthy city starts with healthy lungs. By uniting the community around this cause, Breathe Easy celebrates the power of collaboration in creating a future where everyone can breathe easy.

All October, visit our partner businesses and take advantage of special offers, promotions, and donation opportunities. Every purchase helps fund Respiratory Health Association’s work in research, education, and advocacy.

Fleet Feet is a local leader in the running community, with seven Chicagoland locations and a reputation for helping runners find their perfect fit.

This October, Fleet Feet will prompt donations to Respiratory Health Association at checkout in all Chicago stores, alongside in-store advertising to support RHA’s mission.

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is nationally beloved, and its West Loop shop has become a go-to destination for ice cream lovers in the heart of Chicago.

On Wednesday, October 15 from 3:00–6:00 PM, Jeni’s West Loop will host a Breathe Easy Ice Cream Social, featuring a limited-edition Breathe Easy Sundae. During the event, 25% of all sales will benefit Respiratory Health Association.

Kaiser Tiger is a West Loop gastropub known for its broad tap selection, comfort food menu, and a sprawling beer garden perfect for gathering with friends.

This October, Kaiser Tiger will feature a special “Breathe Easy” cocktail with a portion of proceeds benefiting Respiratory Health Association.

KOVAL Distillery is a Chicago staple, crafting award-winning organic whiskeys, gins, and liqueurs from grain to bottle. Known for its bright, approachable flavors and bold design, KOVAL has earned global acclaim for innovation and quality. 

This October, KOVAL will release a limited-edition “Breathe Easy” whiskey, available in-person and online at KOVAL’s distillery store. 15% of proceeds will benefit Respiratory Health Association.

Kuma’s Corner is a Chicago favorite gastropub known for its legendary lineup of creative burgers and its signature rock ‘n’ roll vibe.

From October through December, $1 from every “Triumph of Death” burger ordered will be donated to support Respiratory Health Association.

Layla & Ringo’s is a River North café and market where great coffee meets good company. From work sessions to weekend hangs, it’s your go-to spot for specialty coffee, curated market finds, and fresh, thoughtfully prepared meals.

This October, Layla & Ringo’s will donate 10% of the proceeds from every Chagaccino Latte sold to the Respiratory Health Association.

Marshall’s Landing is a vibrant River North café and bar known for its stunning river views, flavorful dishes, and specialty drinks that keep you coming back. It’s the perfect spot to gather, work, or unwind.

This October, Marshall’s Landing will donate 10% of the proceeds from every Collagen Crush Latte sold at the coffee bar to Respiratory Health Association.

Mindworks is a family-friendly, free museum featuring hands-on exhibits that explore human behavior, social psychology, and the science of decision-making. Operated by the Roman Family Center for Decision Research at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, it’s a one-of-a-kind space where science comes alive.

On Sunday, October 19 at 11:30 AM, Mindworks will host a special “Breathe Easy” tour. Email us to reserve a spot!

Old Town Pour House is a trendy bar offering upscale pub fare and an extensive beer list featuring standout breweries from the Midwest.

On Tuesday, October 14 from 4:30–11:00 PM, Old Town will donate 20% of all sales to Respiratory Health Association.

Precision Human Performance is a high-tech training studio in Chicago’s West Loop, combining elite coaching, clinical diagnostics, and science-driven programs to optimize movement, performance, and longevity.

For Breathe Easy, Precision Human Performance will donate 15% of all October sales from services featuring VO2 Max and RMR testing.

Pvolve is a nationally loved fitness studio known for its low-impact, resistance-based workouts that sculpt the body, build strength, and improve posture.

On Saturday, October 18, Pvolve will host a special “Breathe Easy” class, with $5 from each registration benefiting the RHA and its mission to support healthy lungs and clean air.

Range is an elevated neighborhood restaurant in Lincoln Park, offering seasonal American fare inspired by Midwest ingredients and Chicago’s rich sense of community.

In honor of Breathe Easy, Range will donate 20% of all proceeds from 4:30–9:00 PM on Wednesday, October 29.

Room to Breathe is a collective of therapists and yoga instructors dedicated to holistic wellness, offering trauma-informed yoga and person-centered talk therapy that supports mental and physical health.

On Thursday, October 23 from 7:00–7:15 AM, Room to Breathe will host a “Breathe Easy” meditation class supporting RHA.

Sugar Bliss is a Chicago favorite, known for its wide range of delicious cookies, including gluten-free and vegan options, available at its downtown bakery and online.

This October, Sugar Bliss is donating 10% of all in-store Sea Salt Chocolate Chunk cookies sales to Respiratory Health and selling “Breathe Easy” cookie boxes online.
